Show Posters
A collection of some of my favorite hand-drawn, vector, and collage posters for freelance projects.
Medicine Man
This was a completely hand-drawn piece that was finished off with some really cool beat tone brushes from True Grit Texture Supply. This show is stacked and I was pleased to create the art for these incredible bands.
1960's Nuggets
Inspired by the iconic ads and posters of the early 1960’s, I had an absolute blast composing this piece for The Dull Blue Lights, a Philly-based garage soul band.
Number One Lovers
Felt inspired to go a tad abstract for this one. Enjoy!
Emmylou Harris
I was asked to illustrate this poster in the very last hour for country music superstar, Emmylou Harris. This poster was the very first show poster to be hung on the wall of City Winery Philadelphia. The proceeds from the posters went to Bonaparte’s Retreat. What an honor.
Cosmic Guilt
Needless to say, this show never happened.
Stoney Bologna
What kind of poster do you make for a bunch of stoner cowboys on tour from LA to ATX?
Sunday Shakes
Vintage vibes - fun with ink viscosity. This is part of a revolving series of DJ gigs I do at Johnny Brenda’s, International Bar, and The Lunar Inn all in FISHTOWN, USA.
Karl Blau and Friends
Full separated for screens, this ode to vintage cowboy suits and honky tonks is one of my favorites yet. The show was chock full of Americana and Western swing, y’all.
Gravebathers
Metal. Meyhem. Carnage and gore galore.
"Everything or Nothing Tour"
Philadelphia film make, Kirby Sybert, created a hilarious documentary about the perils and challenges touring musicians face out on the road. I crafted this poster in PS to capture the wacky hodgepodge of tour life.
Deadfellow Comission
Using a collage of old zoological texts, I composed this piece for Philadelphia crooner, Deadfellow.
Big Josh
Somewhere out in Joshua Tree, you will find a giant cowpoke in a mustard button up - that’s “Big Josh”. This poster was designed in vector and separated for screen printing in hopes that it can serve as a lovely souvenir for anyone who has fallen in Josh’s shadow. Of course, you don’t want to catch him at high noon.
Chelsea Bouquet
This is a recent piece I illustrated digitally for the Philadelphia-based band, The Dull Blue Lights. I chose to use an image of a Chelsea Boot to muse on the mod and garage rock roots that the group draw from. The overall look was texturized to celebrate the dirty glory of the dive bars we’ve all cut our teeth in.
Game Cock
I was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, a city that is completely forgotten by nearly all of the entertainment industry. It fires me up and it makes me fight for everything. When Low Cut Connie returned to play at The Queen Theatre, I immediately wanted to infuse that fighting spirit into the poster. A fighting blue hen and a bouquet of peach blossoms (Delaware’s state bird and flower, respectively) were the main focus of this completely marker-drawn piece. Completed in 2015.
